Eco Adventures

Howler monkeys and scarlet macaws are your alarm clock as you awake in your rainforest cabina or "glamping" tent cabin on the Golfo Dulce or “sweet gulf.” Bill and Mary Burnham have been leading trips to Costa Rica's remote Osa Peninsula on the South Pacific coast for more than a decade. One of the world's deepest tropical fjords, the gulf has garnered world-wide attention as a critical breeding ground for humpback whales, and for its large resident populations of Atlantic bottlenose and pantropical spotted dolphins. Our add-on hiking trip takes us into roadless Corcovado National Park, heralded as one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth.

Getting There

Fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO) via airline of your choice. Then get a domestic flight to Puerto Jimenez on Sansa Airlines. Leave at least two hours between flights in San Jose both coming and going. Be aware that the small regional planes do not fly at night, so the last flight of the day is around 4:30 p.m. Some travelers find it necessary — and more relaxing — to arrival a day early and stay the night in a hotel near the SJO airport, then arrive in Puerto Jimenez the next morning. We will meet you at the airport in Puerto Jimenez for transfer to our waterfront hotel. It has a pool, wifi, and is within walking distance to shopping, banks and restaurants.

Deposit/Cancellation

A 20% deposit holds your spot. Balance due 60 days prior and is non-refundable. We will email you an invoice to pay online, along with a packing list, Frequently Asked Questions and detailed itinerary.

All payments are non-refundable. Trip Insurance is strongly recommended to cover the entire cost of your trip, including flight (if non-refundable tickets), and medical evacuation.
